Friday

I am still very under the weather and so only spent a few moments in the Magic Garden. Ben continues to mow the current favourite catnip Nepeta Purrsian Blue so I suspect I will have to invest in a new plant and this time take cuttings!

Thursday

The herb balcony troughs took a tumble a couple of days ago - Ben may have had a paw in this. I’ve removed it to the side of the house and rehomed the parsley, sage and thyme that had survived up until now.

It was the Solstice yesterday so I celebrated today with a fire in my phoenix firepit & a special meal made from ingredients from the Magic Garden

Tuesday

I missed yesterday as I had a disastrous day at work and so didn’t get home until 11 pm. Today has been busy catching up with ā€˜life’ and making preparations for a Solstice celebration. I love the promise that will come tomorrow with the birth of the new light.

Wednesday

It snowed here yesterday evening so there is crunch layer all over the garden. I haven’t seen it in the light so hope that it’ll be around still for me to photograph in the morning! Ben is being an indoor cat & is a bit bored

Tuesday

Today was even colder with a high of -3C. It has left the garden truly frozen so I have been putting out water for the birds and remembering to insulate it. It looked like steam rising from the frost on the fence in the sunshine but I couldn’t capture it well.

Monday

Its v v cold today - the temperature has remained below 0C all day. Ben has stayed in apart from a high speed check of the outside world from front and backstep. Definitely a day to stay warm inside.

My collection of Christmas cacti are inherited from Mum - I have 7 of these Schlumbergera bridgesii and they all originate from one that was actually mine as a child! I also have inherited a collection of Easter cacti.
