I am still very under the weather and so only spent a few moments in the Magic Garden. Ben continues to mow the current favourite catnip Nepeta Purrsian Blue so I suspect I will have to invest in a new plant and this time take cuttings!
Thursday
Iām still poorly but had a few moments in the Magic Garden in sunshine between showers
Wednesday
Iām off work with a chest infection so have been curled up indoors coughing & feeling sorry for myself. Ben is taking full advantage
Tuesday
Another cool damp day here in Newcastle
Boxing Day
I was working today which precluded time out in the Magic Garden for either of us beyond the speediest of visits. My vegetables are coming on slowly
Christmas Day
Christmas Day included some sunshine and feels almost mild. The garden is looking wintry and wet but is still magical for all that.
Christmas Eve
Its damp & cool here today but not unpleasant so Ben and I spent part of the day in the Magic Garden. It looks very wintery.
Friday
Ben is quietly murdering one of the catnip plants in the Magic part - he makes for the same plant over & over again!
Thursday
The herb balcony troughs took a tumble a couple of days ago - Ben may have had a paw in this. Iāve removed it to the side of the house and rehomed the parsley, sage and thyme that had survived up until now.
It was the Solstice yesterday so I celebrated today with a fire in my phoenix firepit & a special meal made from ingredients from the Magic Garden
Wednesday
Today is National Robin Day
Tuesday
I missed yesterday as I had a disastrous day at work and so didnāt get home until 11 pm. Today has been busy catching up with ālifeā and making preparations for a Solstice celebration. I love the promise that will come tomorrow with the birth of the new light.
Still Snowy & Icy Sunday
Its been gradually warming up during the day to above freezing. Ben & I spent time together in the Magic Garden - he tested the bird water and checked out one of the catnip plants.
Still Snowy Saturday
Its still frozen and snowy here although gradually the temperature is rising to around zero.
Friday
I left for work at 6.30 this morning and got home at 8.45pm. Ben was not impressed
Snowy Thursday
It snowed more last night and again during the day but still only enough to give a gentle covering
Wednesday
It snowed here yesterday evening so there is crunch layer all over the garden. I havenāt seen it in the light so hope that itāll be around still for me to photograph in the morning! Ben is being an indoor cat & is a bit bored
Tuesday
Today was even colder with a high of -3C. It has left the garden truly frozen so I have been putting out water for the birds and remembering to insulate it. It looked like steam rising from the frost on the fence in the sunshine but I couldnāt capture it well.
Monday
Its v v cold today - the temperature has remained below 0C all day. Ben has stayed in apart from a high speed check of the outside world from front and backstep. Definitely a day to stay warm inside.
My collection of Christmas cacti are inherited from Mum - I have 7 of these Schlumbergera bridgesii and they all originate from one that was actually mine as a child! I also have inherited a collection of Easter cacti.
Snowy Sunday
It snowed here overnight, just a tiny amount but enough to give a crunchy layer. I got another string of solar lights up around the Magic Garden
Frosty Saturday
Its very cold today - I woke up to a deep frost. Its been a lovely day though and more sunshine than for a while.
