Saturday

Another wet day when I wanted to be in the Magic Garden but spring is here! I’m very pleased with how the little bit of ‘winter colour’ has settled its way out.

The broom is just coming out as is the spirea. There is a wee gap next to them behind the pond and I think I need to find something to settle into that space

Wednesday

Today was a work day so Ben only got a few minutes in the Magic Garden. I meantime have an increasing forest of seedlings to enjoy & try and keep alive! I have them all over the house on windowsills of each floor, in the garden room & in the summerhouse too as well as the sweetness in the cold frame

Monday

I spent a lot of time in the front garden today trying to clear some of the choking leaves away and tidying the border. I’m pleased with the daffodils out front but need to take some photos to remind me where I need to put more bulbs in. I also did some weeding in the Magic Garden & moved a blackcurrant bush into a container to free up a vegetable growing area.

Sunday

Another damp & cold day! I did some repairs to the arbour seat which will hopefully hold it together for another season. Meantime the pulmonaria are looking healthy and are blooming now.

Saturday

Inevitably it decided to rain today so I got less done than I might have hoped but I did enjoy some time enjoying the spring blooms in the Magic Garden. Ben popped out to chew a bit more of the catnip.

Friday

I’ve been away a few days so was glad to be back in the Magic Garden with Ben this afternoon. The pond weed seems to have cleared a bit with the pond water treatment so I shall skim some more off this weekend and treat the water again.

Sunday

I had a lovely afternoon in the Magic Garden but am paying for it now with back pain. I cleared gunk out of the pond but will have to keep skimming it to try and get the duck weed from taking over again. I need to do some work on its sides. I cut back some of the reeds and irises and pinned back the broom.

I got the drill out and put in some more hooks to support the jasmine as it grows back and the roses. I bought some English Bluebells this morning and have slipped them into this corner with Ben’s catnips. He wasn’t overly impressed with the work I was doing.

Saturday

Today has been a day of rain showers with just the occasional hint of sun. I sowed lots of seeds and also planted out two primulas verdi that I bought at the supermarket. Ben had a good look round while I was busy and checked out the wildlife camera.

I am so pleased at the sheer amount of bloom there is in the Magic Garden now and enjoying the cheerfulness of the daffodils

Friday

Its been a day of sunshine and showers. I saw rainbows while I was at work and was so pleased to arrive home to be in the light! Ben and I stayed out until it was dark. Spring has come!

Thursday

Today was a mixed bag of weather. I had a few moments in the Magic Garden with Ben and am really noticing now how spring is taking hold. I spent a fair chunk of the afternoon sowing more seeds and looking after my wee collection of seedlings. I have now run out of windowsills so will have to restrain my urge to keep sowing more.

Monday

I was at work today so have missed the rain and the wind. The signs of spring are all around now in the garden from my gooseberry bush greening up to the amount of flowers out in bloom.

Sunday

A much milder day with a warmth in the wind & a brief period of sunshine, we had a good period of time outside. I cleared a lot of dead foliage and pruned back some of the jasmine in the back corner. Ben was very suspicious because I was tidying up around ‘his’ catnips. I’m pleased that there is good evidence of new growth in most of the catnip plants.

Saturday

Its been cold and grey today but so far the snow has held off. Ben and I spent some time out in the Magic Garden and Ben stayed out for longer than usual as I went out for a walk. For all it is very chilly the feeling of spring continues to grow as the Magic Garden is greening up

Thursday

A bit more snow overnight but it melted during the day so cold & grey out. I’ve almost run out of windowsills with the current collection of seed trays. I added more today and reflected that I’m always ambitious & rarely successful with my seed growing.
